Breaking: NHL veteran has suffered a broken jaw.

A National Hockey League veteran will be entering the new year with a few less teeth.

On Thursday night San Jose Sharks star defenseman Brent Burns fired a rocket of a shot and unfortunately it went on to strike Calgary Flames veteran forward Michael Frolik square in the face. 

Now NHL player agent Allan Walsh is reporting that Frolik has suffered a broken jaw as a result of the incident and he is not expected to be out several weeks due to the injury. 

It has not been confirmed but there are rumors that Frolik also lost a number of his teeth when he was struck in the face by the puck. You can see the replay of the incident below.
