Rumours are swirling around the NHL that the Minnesota Wild will be acquiescing to fan demand and returning to green home jerseys for the 2017-18 season.
It’s expected that the new Adidas branded uniform will be unveiled at this year’s NHL Entry Draft. While the Wild originally wore green at home for much of their history, the team dropped green in favor for it’s alternate red uniform in 2007. It’s also been theorized that the new uniform could be similar in design to the one that they wore at this year’s NHL Stadium Series game against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Wild looked good in that game, not only because of their new jerseys, but because they thoroughly dominated the Blackhawks en route to a 6-1 victory.
What happens with the team’s red uniform remains to be seen, but it makes logistical sense that it or some variation of it may end up as the team’s alternate uniform for 2017-18.
