Breaking: Nolan Patrick diagnosed with rare disorder, will be out long-term

This just in, the Philadelphia Flyers have announced that forward Nolan Patrick will not travel with the team to Europe for their regular season opener and will be out week-to-week with a “migraine disorder.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t really surprising to Flyers fans. Patrick has struggled with injuries during his first two NHL campaigns and indeed even in junior hockey during with WHL days.

The 21 year old put up 13 goals and 31 points in 72 games with the Flyers last season. Big things were expected from Patrick after he was chosen 2nd overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and, while he still has a TON of upside, it’s hard not to be discouraged by today’s news.

When he’s healthy and playing at the top of the game Patrick is a very skilled forward who’s not afraid to go to the net. I mean… check this out: 



Here’s hoping the kid can get to the root of his ongoing migraine issues and get back on the ice to continue his development.
