There appears to be a major shake up going on in St. Louis well beyond merely terminating head coach Ken Hitchock this morning.

There are rumors that the Blues will be firing a second coach this morning and now NHL.com reporter Lou Korvac his reporting that he is "hearing" that goaltending coach Jim Corsi has also been fired this morning.

While there has yet to be an official announcement, this seems like a far better decision than firing Hitchock, in fact you can point directly to the Blues poor goaltending this season as the reason for their struggles. Last season the Blues led the league with a combined save percentage of .919 between their two goalies, this season has seen a drastic turn for the worst with a combined save percentage of .887, good enough for last in the NHL.

In fact some like Matt Larkin of the Hockey News have seemingly placed the blame squarely at the feet of veteran goaltender Jake Allen, with Larkin claiming that if Allen had merely been average Hitchock would still be employed.
