The Edmonton Oilers made a move on Friday, claiming one of the players that had been placed on waivers yesterday. The Canadian club claimed forward Nathan Walker, who had been placed on the waiver wire by the Washington Capitals on Thursday.

The Australian player recorded a goal in seven games with the Caps. As a member of the Hersey Bears in the American Hockey League last season, Walker amassed 11 goals and 23 points in 58 contests.

The 23-year-old was selected in the third round, 89th overall, by the Capitals back in 2014.

While the Oilers have claimed Walker, they also placed forward Iiro Pakarinen on waivers today. He has recorded just one assist in 18 tilts with Edmonton this season.
