On Friday, the Edmonton Oilers had a big news to announce to their fans as they officially signed one coved UFA.

The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Jussi Jokinen to a one-year contract.

The 34-year-old forward has 891 NHL appearances & spent 2016-17 with Florida, posting 28 points (11G, 17A) in 69 GP as alternate captain.

He was drafted by the Dallas Stars in 2001 in the sixth round, 192nd overall, and spent his first three NHL seasons with the team. Jokinen has also played in the NHL for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins.
