Breaking: Oilers officially sign NHL veteran to PTO contract

While it speculated yesterday, the Edmonton Oilers have now officially announced that they’ve signed NHL veteran Chris Kelly to a professional tryout (PTO) contract. Kelly will join the Oilers’ main training camp as it kicks off on next week. 

The veteran of 833 games split between the Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins managed five goals and 12 points with the Senators last season. He’s a Stanley Cup champion and a personal favourite of Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli, who traded for Kelly during his time with the Bruins.
