The Edmonton Oilers placed Mark Fayne on waivers, the team announced on Sunday. Fayne, 30, was drafted 155th overall by the New Jersey Devils back in 2005. He joined the Oilers as a free agent in the summer of 2014. In three seasons with Edmonton, he played 147 games and registered 17 points. He played only four games in the NHL last season, spending most of his time with the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL, where he registered 17 points in 39 games.

Mark Fayne played 389 total games with the New Jersey Devils and the Edmonton Oilers, registering 65 points. He played 24 playoff games (all with the Devils), registering three points. He will become a unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
