Words around the hockey world is that Matthew Lombardi just retired from professional hockey! Drafted twice (once by the Edmonton Oilers in 2000 and the second time by the Calgary Flames in 2002) Lombardi played in more than 500 NHL games, scoring 101 goals and adding 161 assists for a career total of 262 points.

The speedy forward had his best season in 2009-2010 with the Phoenix Coyotes in which he scored 19 goals and 53 points. He then played for the Nashville Predators, the Toronto Maple Leafs and ended his NHL career with the Anaheim Ducks in 2012-2013.

The last three years, he played with Genève Servette in the Swiss-A League cumulating 32 goals and 52 assists (84 points) in 99 games.
