Breaking: One of the NHL's leading scorers out for the season with injury.

The injury is not as bad, but this feels very reminiscent of the injury suffered by Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane last season.

One of the National Hockey League's leading scorers, Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin, has gone down with a serious injury, and based on the language being used by the Dallas Stars it sounds like he will be out for at least the remainder of the regular season.

According to the Stars Seguin has suffered a 15% cut to his Achilles Tendon and will be out for an extended period of time as a result. The Stars have reported that the timetable is expected to be 3-4 weeks, although Stars general manager Jim Nill would only state that Seguin "should return for playoffs."

This is a massive loss for Dallas, while they will certainly make the playoffs, they are still fighting for seeding and losing Seguin long term will make that fight much more difficult. Seguin has been on fire this season, recording 33 goals and 40 assists in 72 games with the Stars, and currently sits third in NHL scoring.
