The Columbus Blue Jackets are on a mission to rack up some points in order to take part in the postseason this spring. And they had that intensity and desperation as they faced the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night and took a 5-2 lead after two periods.

However, the intensity was also present in star forward Artemi Panarin, who surprisingly dropped the mitts during the contest.

Panarin was chopped in the back of the legs by Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy, and decided to turn around and throw off his gloves. The two men went at it hard, and the Blue Jackets sniper managed to deliver some good punches, but also ate a few in there.

He however headed to the penalty box smiling and fist bumped his teammate Cam Atkinson, who was already in the sin bin.

This was Panarin's second fighting major of his career. According to team insider Aaron Portzline of The Athletic, he fought Scottie Upshall (STL) on 11/9/16 while with Chicago.

The fight however seemed to motivate the Bruins, who scored another goal right after as the game is now 5-3 for Columbus.
