Derick Brassard shouldn't get settled in Florida just yet.

Earlier on Friday, the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired centres Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann from the Florida Panthers for Brassard and Riley Sheahan, along with a 2019 second-round pick and two fourth-round picks in June. TSN's Darren Dreger and Bob McKenzie were the first ones to report the major trade.

However, it seems like the Panthers are not willing to keep Brassard on their roster for too too long...

According to many insiders, including The Fourth Period editor in chief David Pagnotta, the Panthers are already working on trading Brassard once again before the trade deadline. While he couldn't say if a deal was imminent, we all know that the trade deadline is less than a month away...

Brassard must be starting to get used to being traded. He was acquired by the Penguins from the Ottawa Senators at the deadline last February. He has nine goals and 15 points in 40 games this season. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July and carries a $3 million cap hit, since the Vegas Golden Knights retained $2 million in salary as part of the three-team deal that landed him in Pittsburgh last year.

It seems like another trade including Brassard will take place before Feb. 25.

Do not think it's over for the 31-year-old. It's just getting started...
