Breaking: Patrice Bergeron may have suffered a problematic injury
Keystone Press

Bad news, Boston Bruins' fans.

According to a breaking news report from NSBC Sports' Joe Haggerty, star forward Patrice Bergeron has suffered an injury tonight, against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was seen leaving the Air Canada Center in a walking boot on his right foot.

Let's hope this injury isn't too serious, since the 32-year-old centerman is currently one of the best players in the National Hockey League. He scored 54 points in just as many games this year, and helped the Bruins become one of the best teams in the league since the end of November.

Bergeron was drafted 45th overall by the Bruins in 2003. He played a total of 953 career NHL games, in which he recorded 725 points. He also added 70 points in 101 playoff games.

UPDATE:

NHL.com's Mike Zeisberger gave us a little more information about how and when the #37 suffered the injury. He said it might have occured in the second period, when Bergeron was hit by a puck. However, we do not have more details for now:

More details to come.
