The Pittsburgh Penguins have received a lot of bad news just minutes before puck drop.

According to a breaking news report from Pittsburgh Penguins insider Jason MAckey, Penguins star forward Evgeni Malkin is not out on the ice for warm ups ahead of the Penguins game against interstate rivals the Philadelphia Flyers. It is unclear at this time why Malkin will not be playing this evening but Mackey suspect that Malkin may have suffered an injury when he was crosschecked by Robert Bortuzzo on Saturday night when the Penguins lost to the St. Louis Blues.

Additionally Dave Molinari is also reporting that he expects forward Bryan Rust to be a scratch this evening, Rust had previously been described as a game time decision. That means the Penguins will be down some considerable goal scoring power this evening and they will be facing a Flyers team that will likely be dying to play spoiler for the Penguins.

Update: Good news for the Penguins, it appears that Rust will indeed make it into the line up this evening.
