Breaking : Penguins extend forward for two more years!

Managing a NHL franchise is a complicated matter. So many moving parts are in motion that keeping an eye on everything is a real challenge. Sure, your top players attract all the attentions of the media and the fans, but you still have to manage all the other assets in the roster. 

This is precisely what GM Rutherford has done today by extending a two years offer to forward Garrett Wilson. 

Arguably not the core of the Pens offense, Wilson is still a tough guy who's grit and physicality bring a different perspective to the organization. He spent all his 59 games in the AHL last year, but with 34 games in the NHL under the belt, he's the kind of depth player you never have too many.
