Breaking: Penguins forward out long-term
Keystone Press

The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced that young winger Conor Sheary will be out on a week-to-week basis, after sustaining an injury on Thursday against the San Jose Sharks.

His injury is listed as "lower body".

Mike Sullivan announced the news following practice on Thursday.

We're not sure where or when the injury occurred exactly. He finished the game against the Sharks. Bryan Rust took his place on Crosby's wing, with Ryan Reaves likely slotting back on the fourth line as the Penguins prepare to face the Washington Capitals on Friday.

Undrafted, the 25-year-old forward has 12 goals this season along with 7 assists for a total of 19 points. He's well off his pace that saw him put up an impressive 53 points in 61 games in 2016-17.
