The Pittsburgh Penguins are making a very interesting change in goal tonight, although it's not a surprising one.

Head coach Mike Sullivan has confirmed that the Penguins will be starting backup goaltender Tristan Jarry tonight when they face off against the Calgary Flames who will be playing starting goaltender Mike Smith.

Jarry, a 22-year-old former second round pick for the Penguins, has only played in 1 previous National Hockey League game and that was last season when he had a shaky performance.

What does make the move somewhat surprising is the fact that the Penguins have made the decision to call him up and use him despite the fact that he has struggled in the American Hockey League this season. Jarry has posted a 3.18 goals against average in the AHL with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and a .897 save percentage over his 5 games played.

That being said the Penguins are playing their second game of a back to back tonight and the Penguins needed someone to come in and give goaltender Matt Murray a break.
