The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned 24-year-old defenseman Frank Corrado to the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins.
The blue liner has only managed to play three games for the NHL’s Penguins this season and another six for the AHL’s Penguins. With Olli Maatta expected in the lineup for tomorrow’s home game against the Vancouver Canucks, the writing was on the wall for Corrado.
The youngster has bounced around the AHL and the NHL throughout his young career, but could see some extended time with the Penguins this season if the team is forced to deal with injury.
