While there is no official announcement from the team, we expect to hear one at some point today or tomorrow morning - Jim Rutherford has reportedly called up Teodors Blugers from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.

The report comes from Aivis Kalnins, one of the more reliable sources for European player news.

With Carter Rowney, Conor Sheary, Patric Hornqivst and Tom Kuhnhackl out, there is a need for forward depth on the team, and it appears the Latvian has earned the call-up.

As Kalnins reports, he could play tomorrow against the Dallas Stars - which would effectively be his first game in the National Hockey League.

Teodors Blugers, who looks to go by Teddy Blueger in North America, was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2012 NHL entry draft by the Penguins.

He has a modest 26 points in 45 games in the AHL this season.
