Breaking: Pens send forward down to the AHL
KeyStone Press

The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced that winger Josh Archibald will report to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on a conditioning assignment effective immediately.

The Penguins' AHL affiliate has 3 games this weekend, beginning tonight. Archibald has only played 2 games this season, posting 0 points and a -1 plus/minus differential.

Given the fact that this is a conditioning assignment, he will likely be back in the NHL following the weekend's trio of games. It's unclear whether or not Mike Sullivan will slot him into the lineup upon his return, however.

The former 6th round pick by the Pens in 2011 only has 13 NHL games under his belt, with 3 goals in that span.
