Alexandre Fortin of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies has been officially suspended for 4 games after a brutal hit injuring Drummondville Voltigeurs player Mathieu Sévigny.

The Director of Player Safety reviewed videos of the play and determined that it was an illegal hit to the head in the neutral zone as Fortin cut off Sévigny and hit him in the chin with his shoulder.

Alexandre Fortin was skating on the ice with the Blackhawks during the preseason this year and was turning heads as the potential to make the roster was mounting.

We hope that this suspension doesn't slow down the 19-year-old's momentum so that he can put up some big numbers this year for another shot at the Blackhawks roster next season.
