The New York Islanders have announced they have made an emergency recall today. They called up 21-year-old winger Josh Ho-Sang from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Islanders' insider Arthur Staples confirmed the news on his Twitter account:

At the start of the season, many believed Ho-Sang would be an active candidate in the Calder Trophy race. As a matter of fact, he recorded four assists through his first four games of the campaign, but was shut down completely over his last two outings.

Some experts believed the solution was to let him observe the game from the press box to get back into it, but Isles management has chosen a different path. They sent him back to the AHL, where he amassed two goals and four assists for six points in just as many games.

He'll finally have another shot with the Isles tonight, as they face the St. Louis Blues.
