The season is fast approaching and NHL teams are expected to make several cuts from their training camp roster in the coming days.

On Thursday, the New York Rangers reduced their roster of seven players.

The Blue Shirts' first round pick of the 2017 draft, Lias Andersson, has been loaned to Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League. Another first rounder, left winger Matt Puempel, selected 24th overall in the 2011 draft by the Ottawa Senators, is placed on waivers.

The Rangers are getting closer to a complete roster for the season opener.
