Legendary New York sports broadcaster Bob Wolff has died at age 96. The long-time Rangers fan and broadcaster had an 80 year career in sports broadcasting and spent 50 years calling games at Madison Square Garden for both the Rangers and the New York Knicks.

Among the highlights of his career were calling Dan Larsen’s perfect game for the New York Yankees’ 1956 World Series victory and calling the 1958 NFL championship game between the Giant and the Colts.

“Bob Wolff was not only one of the seminal figures in American sportscasting, but was part of the very fabric of Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks, and the New York Rangers, for more than six decades,” the Madison Square Garden Company and MSG Network said in a statement.

Wolff is survived by his wife, his three children, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Rest in peace, Bob.
