Breaking: Really bad news for Paul Postma.

I think it's fair to say, we got more than our share of bad luck this season.

According to Ken Wiebe of Sun Sports, Winnepeg Jets head coach Paul Maurice has stated that a decision would be made about whether surgery is required for defenseman Paul Postma in the next few days.  Postma has been out with a lower body injury since March 16th.

With only six games remaining in the regular season, and the Jets mathematically out of a playoff spot, needless to say that a surgery would mean the end of Postma's season. Despite his lack of production (1 goal and 13 assists in 65 games) Paul Postma was bringing a bit of physicality and experience to the Winnipeg's blueline.

Tonight the jets are facing the New Jersey Devils, and the defense should look like this. Morrissey, Melchiori and Nogier combine for 105 NHL games.

Morrissey – Trouba

Melchiori – Byfuglien

Stuart – Nogier
