Red Wings GM opens up on Head Coach Jeff Blashill’s future.

As you probably know, this is the last year the Red Wings will spend in the Joe Louis Arena. The team is set to move at the end of the season and it leaves many in a nostalgic state of mind. Many expected a better ending in the historic building though.

Many Detroit Red Wings fan also expect Ken Holland to fire his head coach Jeff Blashill who had to replace the legendary Mike Babcock.

It’s been a tough year for the original 6 dynasty as they will be missing the playoffs for the first time in 25 years. In a brief interview, Red Wings GM opened up on Head Coach Jeff Blashill’s future.

“He went to the USHL and won a championship. He went to an NCAA program (Western Michigan) and revived it. He won the Calder Cup in the AHL, and other teams were starting to take notice. His resume indicates he will be successful..”

As Ken Holland backed up his coach, fans can “Expect Blashill to return.” Wrote Elliotte Friedman in his popular column 30 thoughts.
