Breaking: Red Wings lose a man on Monday night.

The Detroit Red Wings have lost one of their core players.

It's unclear exactly what happened to veteran forward Luke Glendening, but he did leave tonight's game against the Carolina Hurricanes and now according to multiple reports will not return this evening.

The team is calling this a lower-body injury, and while this is purely speculative, he did appear to be favoring his ankle as he left the ice which would fit with that description.

Given their current position in the standings we expect the Red Wings will be extra careful in how they handle this injury from Gledening.
