BREAKING: Red Wings Make A Call-Up

The Detroit Red Wings' injury woes continue to pile on as player personnel movement is abundant, lately.

Moments ago, the organization proceeded to place defenseman Alexey Marchenko on the seven-day injured reserve with a reported shoulder injury. In order to take his place, Nick Jensen of the Grand Rapids Griffins has been called up.

This is not the first time that Marchenko sits out due to injury this season, as he had made his return to the lineup against the Columbus Blue Jackets only 10 days ago after missing a little over two weeks prior to December 9th.

26-year-old Jensen, on the other hand, has not dressed for a single NHL game to date and will surely have an opportunity shortly as the Brendan Smith experiment from a few weeks ago was unfortunately not as conclusive as head coach Jeff Blashill would have hoped.

More updates to follow shortly.
