The Detroit Red Wings have reportedly made a significant move on Wednesday evening.

While the Red Wings themselves have not made any sort of official announcement, player agent Alan Walsh announced on social media that veteran forward P.A. Parenteau has accepted a professional tryout offer from the Detroit Red Wings.

Parenteau, a 34-year-old former fourth round draft pick, spent last season with the New Jersey Devils before eventually being traded to the Stanley Cup Finalist Nashville Predators at the National Hockey League trade deadline.

In 67 total games split between the two teams last season, Parenteau recorded 13 goals and 15 assists for a total of 28 points over that stretch.

As is always  the case with professional tryout offers, the Red Wings could opt to cut Parenteau at any time during training camp, so this is no guarantee he will be on their roster this season.
