Breaking: Scherbak dealt huge blow!
KeyStone Press

Montreal Canadiens young forward Nikita Scherbak left early in a game against Los Angeles Kings on October 26th due to a leg injury.

Today, it was announced by the team that he had to undergo a procedure to repair the injury.

Our last promising forward to get knee surgery was Alex Galchenyuk, and the center/winger simply hasn't been the same since. It's unknown whether he is having issues with his knee or if the rumored off-ice issues are the bigger detriment to his game.

Scherbak is mainly a contingent of the Laval Rocket this year, but he has shown an improvement in his two-way game and is becoming an even more dominant puck possession player. His assets are beginning to show that he is an NHL'er - so he and management will have to hope that he recovers well from this surgery and doesn't follow a similar path as his first round counterpart in Galchenyuk.
