The Montreal Canadiens have announced that David Schlemko will report to the Laval Rocket for the second time this season on the basis of a conditioning stint.
The 30-year-old defenseman has yet to play a game this season for the Canadiens, after suffering an injury to his hand that eventually required surgery. Seeing as Montreal does not play tonight and Laval does, this move makes perfect sense - it gives Schlemko the opportunity to get back into game shape without missing any time in Montreal.
This is the second such time he's been sent to Laval for this purpose, but he suffered a setback in his recovery last time and never made it back into the Canadiens' lineup.
With the way this season is going, will his addition truly make a difference?
