There is a massive National Hockey League scouting presence in Toronto tonight.

A breaking news report from the Fourth Period's David Pagnotta has revealed that representatives from no fewer than 15 NHL teams are on hand to watch the Las Vegas Golden Knights face off against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

According to Pagnotta the teams with at least one scout in attendance are the Boston Bruins, Saint-Louis Blues, Winnipeg Jets, Nashville Predators, Vancouver Canucks, Dallas Stars, Washington Capitals, Ottawa Senators, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, Anaheim Ducks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and Arizona Coyotes.

It's unclear what has drawn so many teams to this one particular game this evening, however the Golden Knights have been trying to move a defenseman since prior to the start of the regular season, and the Leafs have had James van Riemsdyk in trade rumors for most of the year so far.

Also worth noting here is that the Nashville Predators are the only team with multiple scouts at the game. It wouldn't be surprising to see them continue to bolster their roster after acquiring Kyle Turris in a big trade this week-end.
