Breaking: Sedin twins to receive prestigious honor
Keystone Press

The Vancouver Canucks have announced that captain Henrik Sedin and twin brother Daniel Sedin will receive honorary degrees from Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) on June 1st for citizenship, sportsmanship, civility, respect, and care within British Columbia.

KPU president and vice-chancellor Dr. Alan Davis made the announcement saying, "I'm a Canucks fan, and it goes without saying the Sedins are exceptionally skilled players whose leadership, talent and hard work give the Canucks an edge that is unparalleled.”

There’s no denying the contributions of both Henrik and Daniel to the province during their time in Vancouver. Together, with the help of their families, they’ve establish the Sedin Family Foundation which has helped countless children and families across the British Columbia. Their tireless volunteer work at the Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and BC Children’s Hospital is commendable, as well.
