The Ottawa Senators announced that they have sent defensemen Thomas Chabot and Ben Harpur to the Belleville Senators of the AHL. They also placed forward Mac McCormick on waivers, and they will send him to Belleville as well if he clears waivers.

Chabot, 20, was drafted 18th overall in 2015. He played one game with the Senators last season, before being sent down to the Saint-John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. He registered 153 points in 202 games during four junior hockey seasons, and added 45 points in 40 playoff games. Chabot was also named the tournament MVP in last year’s World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, helping Canada to win the silver medal.

Harpur, 22, was drafted 108th overall by the Senators in 2013. He played 11 games in the NHL, registering only one point. He played nine games in Senators last postseason push, registering two points.

McCormick, 25, was drafted 171st overvall in 2011. In 27 total games with the Senators, he registered four points.
