The Ottawa Senators assigned defenseman Thomas Chabot to the Belleville Senators (AHL), the team announced on Sunday. They have also assigned forward Nick Paul to the AHL.


Chabot, 20, was drafted 18th overall by the Senators in 2015. He played five games in the NHL this season, registering three points. In 12 games played in the AHL, he has seven points in 12 games.

Paul, 22, was drafted 101st by the Dallas Stars in 2013. The Sens acquired him via trade in 2014, when Jason Spezza was traded to the Dallas Stars. In 29 games played in the NHL, he registered five points. He hasn't register a point in four games played with the Senators this year.
