Breaking: Senators reportedly making a big push for Matt Duchene.

TSN insider Darren Dreger has just dropped a bombshell on Friday night. 

According to Dreger the Colorado Avalanche were in talks with both the Nashville Predators as well as the Ottawa Senators for a three-way trade deal that would have included Avalanche star forward Matt Duchene.

Dreger also is reporting that the result of that deal would have had Duchene going to the Ottawa Senators, although that deal now appears to be dead in the water with talks having broken down between the three sides. 

That being said Dreger also adds that Senators general manager Pierre Dorion has been going after Duchene and that talks have been heating up on that front in recent weeks. 

While we may never know what other pieces would have been on the move, if we had to make an educated guess we would be willing to bet that Senators forward Kyle Turris likely would have been part of the package, as well as one of Nashville's top-6 defensemen. Likely with Turris landing in Nashville and the Avalanche collecting the defenseman given up by Nashville in the deal.
