The Ottawa Senators pulled off a blockbuster move last season with the Colorado Avalanche when they landed Matt Duchene and decided to go back to this same trade partner on Wednesday morning.

A smaller move, but still...

The Senators have acquired prospect Jean-Christophe Beaudin from the Avalanche in exchange for Max McCormick.

The 21-year-old Beaudin has posted six goals and 13 points in 42 AHL games with the Colorado Eagles this season. He has been assigned to the Belleville Senators by Ottawa.

He was selected in the third-round choice, 71st overall by the Avalanche back in the 2015 NHL Draft.

As for McCormick has split the 2018-19 campaign between the Senators and the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Belleville Senators. He managed to collect seven goals and 12 points with Belleville and posted one goals in 14 exits with Ottawa. The left winger has 10 points, (6g, 4a) in 71 career NHL appearances, all with the Senators. He was a sixth-round selection (171st overall) of the Sens in the 2011 NHL Draft.

McCormick will report to the Colorado Eagles.
