Breaking: Sens’ latest additions to make NHL debuts tonight

Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion announced this morning that top prospect Erik Brannstrom will make his NHL debut tonight when the Sens take on the St. Louis Blues.

The 19 year old Brannstrom, of course, was acquired late last month from the Vegas Golden Knights as part of a package deal for former Sens forward Mark Stone. He has just one assist in five games for Ottawa’s AHL affiliate Belleville Senators, but an impressive seven goals and 28 points in 41 games for Vegas’ AHL affiliate Chicago Wolves this season.

Hometown boy Max Veronneau will also make his NHL debut tonight, after the college free agent inked a deal earlier this week with the Sens.

It may be a dark time for Sens fans right now, but at least there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
