Breaking: Sens make a final decision on the future of MacArthur
KeyStone Press

Clarke MacArthur's future with the Ottawa Senators — and perhaps even as a pro hockey player —was greatly put in doubt after the veteran forward failed his medical on the first day of training camp back in September.

Now Sens GM Pierre Dorion made a statement on TSN 1200, stating that he doubts the forward will ever return to action.

After missing much of the last two seasons due to concussion issues, MacArthur seemed to have turned a corner last spring when he returned in the final week of the regular season and played well during Ottawa's playoff run.

However, he admitted to dealing with some discomfort in his neck, failed the medical and has not been back since. Dorion's comments now hint at a potential retirement.

In 552 games in the NHL, with the Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs and Senators, MacArthur, who was selected in the third round in 2003, recorded 133 goals and 304 points overall.

HockeyFeed wish him all the best.
