Breaking: Sens player out long-term with personal issues

All the best to him and his family, here’s hoping for a quick and healthy return.

Ottawa Senators GM Pierre Dorion announced this morning that defenceman Mark Borowiecki will be out of the team’s lineup for an indeterminate amount of time with a “personal health issue”.

It’s unclear what the issue is right not and whether or not it will be made public, but one thing’s clear: it must be serious. It’s rare that a player leaves his team in the middle of the season. Such events are usually reserved for particularly pressing health matters, as was the case last season with the Sens and goaltender Craig Anderson whose wife Nicholle is battling cancer.

Whatever the case, we’re cheering for you Mark. All the best and we hope to see you back on the Sens blue line soon, better than ever!
