The New Jersey Devils have terminated one of their promising young prospect’s contract after he was found guilty in a sexual assault case.
Ben Johnson, who was drafted 90###sup/sup### overall by the Devils in 2012, had the remaining year on his entry-level contract waived after Justice Kirk Munroe of the Windsor Superior Court ruled against the 22-year-old.
The case dates back to March 17th 2013 where Johnson reportedly forced a young woman, 16 years old at the time, to perform oral sex on him and have non-consensual sex with the hockey player.
Her friends claim she was highly intoxicated at the nightclub where she was assaulted, reports The Score and CTV Windsor.
