Breaking: Sharks sign top goalie at the last minute for the playoffs!

The duo of netminders Martin Jones and Aaron Dell's ears must be burning. The goaltending has been a hot topic all season long and it seems like the San Jose Sharks have had enough...

With the postseason just around the corner, both Jones and Dell must do better, especially now that the Sharks are riding a five-game losing streak. They might now have the pressure to do it as it has been reported that the Sharks have signed a deal with Quinnipiac University top goalie Andrew Shortridge. The 23-year-old stands out with his 940 save percentage this year and is also a finalist for the Mike Richter Awars for top Cawlidge Hawkey goaltender.

This might be what the Sharks need, and what Jones and Dell must realize: someone else could do the job. And it wouldn't be too hard right now: Jones might be tied for fourth place among all NHL goalies with 35 wins under his belt, but his .896 save percentage. Dell's .884 save percentage is 67th. Combined, the Sharks' .890 save percentage is last in the league.

This boost in net might also helped the fact that the Sharks had to do without Erik Karlsson and Radim Simek on the blue line.

No matter what, there needs to be improvement in between the pipes if the Sharks want to battle in the postseason, and this move could make a difference in the end.
