Breaking: Shea Weber makes shocking comments about the current state of the Habs.

The Montreal Canadiens may have a very big problem on their hands, at least as far as their team is concerned.

While veteran defenseman Shea Weber isn't officially the team's captain, that honor belongs to forward Max Pacioretty, no one doubts that when Weber speaks his words carry a great deal of weight.

On Friday Weber spoke to the media about the Habs abysmal 0-6 performance in the preseason, and it was quite clear from Weber's comments that he feels his team, as it's currently performing, is not fit for the NHL.

"We have two matches to get back on the right track. I don't think we are ready to begin the regular season, but we have two matches left to reach that goal."

It's a damning condemnation of the way the Habs have been playing thus far in the preseason, especially on the defensive side of the ice, and it comes from one of the most respected members of that team.

General manager Marc Bergevin has received a great deal of criticism for some of the moves he has made, and perhaps even more so for the moves he failed to make, and if the team continues to struggle the way it has a great many eyeballs will be focusing on him.
