Breaking: Shipachyov's original plan falls apart!

The Vegas Golden Knights did allow forward Vadim Shipachyov to seek a trade, but it's safe to say that his agent has not found any suitors as of now. Until today, it did not seem to worry the Russian player, who prefers heading back home and play in Russia.

However, it looks like clubs in the KHL are not in contact with the 30-year-old forward to negotiate a return.

Shipachoyv, who is hoping to head back to his former KHL club and take part in the 2018 Olympics, cannot be in contact with the KHL as he is still under contract with a team from the National Hockey League at the moment.

TSN insider Bob McKenzie did report last night that Shipachyov and the Golden Knights could mutually agree to terminate his deal in order to allow him to return to play in Russia.

But for now, the top forward will have to report to the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League and hope that the Golden Knights will be willing to lose him for nothing in return so Shipachyov can finally hear from St. Petersburg SKA or any other teams back in Russia.

He is surely keeping his fingers crossed.
