Surprising but true: defenseman Jason Garrison has cleared the waivers on Saturday. The 32-year-old was placed on waivers yesterday by the Vegas Golden Knights.
Many experts and NHL insiders believed a rival team would claim the blueliner before noon today. The Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers are all reportedly seeking help on the back end.
Fans will have to keep an eye on Garrison, since he may be traded in the coming days. The same thing happened a few weeks ago when goaltender Calvin Pickard was placed on waivers by Vegas, only to be traded to Toronto afterwards.
In four games this season with Vegas, Garrison has amassed an assist. In 70 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning last year, he recorded a goal and nine points.
