The Columbus Blue Jackets had a tremendous season and the reason for it is partly because Sergei Bobrovsky was on top of his game. However, Bobrovsky was not happy with his play in the postseason even though he’s been nominated for the coveted Veniza Trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League's  goaltender who is “adjudged to be the best at this position.”

“It's a tough way to finish the season; it's disappointing,” Bobrovsky said. “But you have either success or experience. So this time, with this playoffs, I had experienced and I will learn from it and move on.”

Aivis Kalniņš, KHL insider. KHL/European scout, had an important update regarding former Vezina Trophy contender Sergei Bobrovsky. For a reason that is so far unknown, the Russian national team has decided not to give Bobobrovsky a call.

It's a weird decision regarding to the fact he might be the best option available for Team Russia.
