Signature of a 23-year-old prolific scorer went under the radar

As reported by ESPN insider John Buccigross and Fanrag sports network, the Vancouver Canucks would’ve added a 23-year-old prolific scorer to their roster.

Jim Bennings dipped into the NCAA free agent market to sign forward Griffen Milino to an entry-level deal. Milino has spent the past two seasons at Western Michigan University.

The 5ft11, 171-pound forward played 40 games with the Broncos this season. He scored 15 goals and registered 18 assists for a total of 33 points. The year before he registered 25 points in 36 games.

As per Fanrag sports “he’s been a prolific scorer for the NCHC club, putting up 25 points in 36 games last year and 33 points in 40 games this year. Now that his 2016-17 campaign is over, though, he’s finished with college hockey—and will go pro instead. He chose not to sign with either of the clubs he’s attended training camps with (he spent time with the Detroit Red Wings in 2016 and the New York Islanders in 2015), though, and headed for Western Canada.
