There were rumors after former Tampa Bay Lightning winger Jonathan Drouin was traded to the Montreal Canadiens that he could be asked to play center, and now we have one more piece of information that appears to indicate this may very well be the case.

In a recent interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Drouin was asked about the possibility of playing center, and while he did not touch on how likely it might be, he made it clear there's no issue going up the middle if that's what the Habs require.

"I'm not nervous about playing centre," said Drouin. "I played there in junior for a full year."

"It definitely doesn't make me nervous if that's the case."

With Montreal failing to find a true number one center once again there is a growing belief that Drouin will be called upon to fill that role. That being said his entire National Hockey League career has been spent on the wing, so it will be very interesting to see if Drouin can transition and maintain his offensive touch while doing so.
