Breaking: Stanley Cup champion defenseman placed on waivers

The St. Louis Blues have placed 27 year old defensemen Jakub Jerabek on waivers. This according to a report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Jerabek has played just one game for the Blues this season, going pointless in the contest. He split last season between the Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals, picking up two goals and eight points in 36 combined games.

The undrafted blue liner is on a one year, $1 million deal so it’s possible that a team could pick him up to fill a spot, but given his lack of impact so far in his career it seems unlikely.
