One National Hockey League team has just had it's hopes of making the playoffs this season seriously damaged.

We reported yesterday that comments from Los Angeles Kings head coach Darryl Sutter left little room for optimism when it came to the recovery of star goaltender Jonathan Quick, but we never expected an update this bad to follow just one day later.

According to Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times the latest update on the health of Jonathan Quick now has him out until at least March of 2017, indicating that he will miss at least two and a half more months of action due to his injury.

Elliott reports that general manager Dean Lombardi has no plans, at least not yet, to make a move to acquire a goalie in order to help his team reach the postseason, and one has to wonder if Peter Budaj and Jeff Zatkoff will be up to the task.
